Wank Buddy Advice – White spots on my penis

Submitted by Kris in Edinburgh

“I’ve had the opportunity to wank to porn with a friend of mine recently. We were drinking and watching porn and he got his cock out and started stroking it. I really wanted to join in too and he actually asked me why I wasn’t, I just made an excuse that I had to go. The real reason is that I’m really embarrassed. I have a pretty big and thick cock, but I have these little white spots that really worry me. I know I went to the doctors about this when I was about fifteen (ten years ago now), and he told me they were common and nothing to worry about. I can’t remember what they are but he told me lots of guys have them. I didn’t see any of them on my mates cock though. I’m just worried that if I get my cock out in front of him he’s gonna take the piss out of me or think I have a disease or something.”

Ah, a health question! If they are what I think they are, they’re called “Fordyce Spots”, and they are very common. I have them too, so do about four of my jerk off buddies. I have had one guy with a totally smooth cock ask me what they were, and I told him. We did a little searching on the net and I showed him some pics of other guys with them. He said he’d seen them on cocks in porn but never knew anything about them.

Chances are your mate won’t ask about them, and he’s probably seen them on thousands of cocks in porn videos before. Have you never seen them on porn stars? So many of them have them.

They are very common, but although they don’t pose any health problems at all some guys have more than others and they can cause some confidence issues. There’s really not much that can be done, but there are some treatments that you might want to try. This is always being looked into and it’s hoped that a permanent solution might be found to remove them, but at the moment you would probably have to go for a laser treatment that basically zaps the larger and more prominent ones. This doesn’t last for long though as far as I know. It seems that those who have had the treatment see a little scarring for a couple of months, then they have a period where the spots are less visible, but then they start to return.

I don’t think (personally) that it’s worth going through all that. Your cock will be unusable for between ten days and two weeks, and if you even get a boner during that time (which, obviously you are going to, whether you’re awake to know it or not!) there’s a risk of causing scarring along the shaft too. Once the scabs go you maybe have another month or two of them being gone before they start to reappear. For the cost, discomfort and temporary removal it’s not worth doing this in my opinion.

You really shouldn’t let this stop you from enjoying yourself and having the sex life you want to have. If you want to wank with your mate you should just go for it and not worry about this. If he asks you, just tell him. Chances are you are more aware of them than any sexual partner would ever be.

If you’re still this worried about them, perhaps go to the doctors again and see if there’s anything he can suggest other than laser treatment. I have heard that there might be special soaps that reduce the oils in the skin which could perhaps help, and there may even be some form of steroidal cream you could try. Like I said, this is like a cure for baldness, it’s one of those male problems that’s not really talked about much, but there’s a lot of research going on to develop treatments, who knows what they might have discovered since I last looked into it.
